As of April 10, 2025, American citizens are required to apply for a travel visa to Brazil. Americans traveling for tourism can apply for an e-Visa at the official government website (https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/). Please applying for the e-Visa at least five months before. This timeframe provides sufficient leeway to complete and/or rectify the visa application if necessary.

For those with nationality to other countries, you may be able to travel to Brazil without a visa. Please check with your consulate for more information.

As a reminder, passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months before travel date. Please make sure to renew your passports if necessary.

Most major airlines fly to Brazil, many with direct flights to São Paulo. We recommend flying American Airlines, Delta, or LATAM. We hope that many of you will be able to apply your credit card points and miles towards the flight!

Within Brazil, we recommend flying with LATAM, Gol, and Azul (Airlines). Domestic flights leaving or arriving in São Paulo will do so primarily through Congonhas Airport.

When arriving to the airport, we recommend organizing hotel transfers directly with the hotel where you will be staying. For those who would prefer to take a taxi, official taxi stands are available immediately after exiting customs. Airport taxis accept credit cards payments with a fixed price depending on your destination.

A fun tip – When arriving in São Paulo, you will have access to the Duty-Free store once passing through customs. It is a great opportunity to do some shopping upon your “arrival” and “departure” as well.
